Luyo – ‘Dissolution’ ft. Niki Saletta

‘Dissolution’ is a project produced by label head Luyo, who have recently been exploring the genres of Afro House, Nu Disco, and Jazz, everyone’s favourite genres. What is genuinely surprising is how much the vocalist of the song, Niki Saletta, has actually done in her life. Best known for her role as ‘Deena’ in 7th Heaven, she has also taken part in many TV, film projects & national commercials, recorded numerous voice overs, jingles, games & animations. It seems she also has a talent for singing. Most of us can’t even get out of bed without setting four alarms.

The Original Mix is mellowed and possesses a strong dance theme, composed of sprightly guitar riffs, which create a similar sound to those Daft Punk songs that got played so far into the ground, Pharrell almost high-fived Satan. The lyrics are sound and work nicely with her voice; the instruments work harmoniously, forming a balanced, fresh melody. The pace is a little slow for any kind of thriving scene, appealing to a more mainstream audience, with a much heavier focus on the vocals rather than the instrumental elements. Even so, the song has a lot of pop potential.

There is a J&M Brothers & Vicmoren remix, supposedly to make the song more club friendly, but it does little more than add a harder beat, make Saletta’s voice more affected and take the vocals out of sync with the background music. If you’re looking for catchy-as-frick, lively track to sing to shamelessly in the car, the Original Mix is the only option.

Luyo are expected to release a handful of new productions this month, so keep an eye out.
