Eden Ibiza Opening Party: In Review

Eden; a reinvigorated opening party which kicked off in biblical proportions.

Without fail, every summer exceeds expectation for San Antonio’s superclub Eden. Any club that can say they’ve been graced by a DJ portfolio that includes key names in the music industry like Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Disclosure, Goldfish, Markus Schulz, Sasha, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Dubfire, Luciano, Cristian Varela and MK is not going to disappoint in sonic, visual and vibe quality.

Let me walk you through the evening. It’s barely past midnight and the line is out the door. I walk in and am immediately hit by the sounds of Mandal and Forbes. Literally. Eden is home to Incubus Gold by Void – a state-of-the-art piece of sound engineering; the dream of any promoter, music lover and DJ. It’s impossible not to be immediately amped for the night ahead as I head to the second floor for a drink (in comparison to other Ibiza clubs, the drink prices were reasonable and affordable) and to soak in the crowds immense energy.

The club really has a great capacity with two DJ booths, several bars, main dance floor and different levels. You aren’t overwhelmed with too many options but have enough choice to keep the night interesting. And yeah, it got interesting. Dazzling dancers adorned both sides of the DJ booth, bewitching us all in an array of lavish costume changes from the feathery shoulder padded swimsuits to the glittering, Mansion leotards on show – it all added to the dope vibes of the night.

Toolroom boss and headliner, Mark Knight absolutely decimated the dancefloor. When a night like this comes together, you hit house nirvana. He gives you everything you never knew you wanted in a set and worked the crowd like a true professional. Then he dropped his own track with Prok & Fitch – ‘Into my Life’ and we all lost it; cheers and whistles washed through the absolutely packed club and all i could see as the smoke machines pumped smoke over us all was hands disappearing down into the haze, the only evidence these are attached to actual humans was the rise of many party goers onto the shoulders of their friends – the ultimate sign you’re doing something (everything) right.

From start to finish, Eden brought the goods and proved why it’s part of the Ibiza club myth. If you have high standards like me – prepared to be impressed.
