It’s a Free Love Digi debut for Dutch producer Nuaru, who has left behind the punk rock and metal bands of his youth in favour of a sweeping two-track debut on Quentin Hiatus’ imprint – the Like In A Dream EP.
As loosely tethered to drum & bass as most of the label’s catalogue, the title track is a golden slice of half-time liquid, lucid synths washing over a punchy drumbeat. ‘She Blends In With The Ocean’ drops the tempo very slightly as it sways towards a grand punch of crackling basslines and heartfelt atmospherics.
The producer made his live debut in 2014 when he appeared at the Amsterdam Dance Event, and before long he was signed to Basserk Records. Alongside this he saw tracks released on other labels, appearing on compilations alongside the likes of Deon Custom, Arts the Beatdoctor and Pete Philly.
