US deep & tech house label, 5 and Dime Recordings, is celebrating its 25th release with the ‘In Too Deep’ EP by San Francsico’s Rishi K & Spanish producer, Deephope. It’s an engrossing set of cuts, available on Beatport now, however, if like Young MC you’ve got know how, you might be able to scoop a copy for free.
With halcyon melodies and flowing, drifting rhythms, ‘In Too Deep’ is a warm and emotive EP that carries the listener along on waves of velvety house. The original mix of the title track sets the tone with a harmonic blend of soft, rolling beats and light but vibrant synths. ‘Already Leaves the Sun’ maintains this vibe with tranquil atmospherics and a mellow beat. Harold Heath’s remix of ‘In Too Deep’ adds in some funky, more robust rhythms for a zippier ride.
To mark the occasion, 5 and Dime Recordings is very kindly offering a free copy of the ‘In Too Deep’ EP to the first ten reader/ravers who can answer just two cryptic questions (usually you have to answer three but it’s possible that the third question got lost amid the boisterous the revelry at their office in Denver, Colorado) so count yourselves lucky and get scribbling!
The questions are are follows…
1.) The first track on 5 and Dime Recordings’ very first release is called ‘Remember Sammy Jankis’. From which movie does the track take its title?
2.) 5 and Dime Recordings hosts a podcast which airs on Digitally Imported Deep House every month. At what point of month does it air?
