Zeds Dead, Bingo Players and Tommy Trash Keep It Real With Smirnoff Sound Collective

The Smirnoff Sound Collective have teamed up with Vice to deliver new video project ‘There & Now’, which gives fans access to exclusive sneak-peak videos, close-ups and real honest talks with their favourite DJ’s. Speaking to EDM provocateurs Zeds Dead, Bingo Players and Tommy Trash, Smirnoff get together with some of the scene’s hottest names to deliver an insight into the elusive world behind the DJ booth.

Following their epic Tomorrowland #SmirnoffHouse party, Smirnoff Sound Collective once again shorten the distance between artists and their fans. Presenting their day-to-day lives on screen with exclusive footage of them doing all sorts from cooking Italian, travelling, passing the time when stuck in traffic to gigging around the country; in a way this destroys the old-fashioned image of the untouchable music idols, turning them into equals to everyone else, on the most basic level that makes it easiest to connect with their big dreams, fears and doubts.

Giving out the real story behind their success, we learn of their making graffiti and taking golf car-rides to their stage. Journeying from empty clubs to rave parties, they tell of listening to Zed Zeppelin and Hendricks in school and describe the goose-bumps they get when performing: revealing the magic in its entirety (hence the hard work and persistency, and maybe a little luck). All this is presented through snippets of information, just enough to strike one’s imagination and give a basic idea of their life after being signed.

We hear the confessions of these guys on the other side of the DJ booth: their excitement when their own idols re-tweet their updates and their humbleness saying they never though they would be “those boys”. The ones stood in front of a raving crowd cheering, knowing their lyrics, and how this still gives them the same buzz it did four years ago when they got discovered. All three episodes reveal the true passion behind the big names and the connection they try to sustain with their fans through media, their work and those videos. As Tommy Trash says, their music is energy for the crowd that bounces off back to him so he can create even further in a constant loop feeding each other’s passion for good tunes and positive vibes.

The Smirnoff Sound Collective was set up to bring more people together by bonding the artists and their true stories to the fans: and what is easier to relate to than being a human. Make sure to check out the first three episodes of There & Now, and stay tuned for more to come from the series!
