Scoop a copy of Ian Metty’s 4 You EP

Following the release of ‘Dirty Pants Romance’ by Javas this summer, Deep Wave Records is back with a brand new EP, this time by label boss, Ian Metty.

Entitled ‘4 You’, the EP is Deep Wave’s 7th release and features Metty’s characteristic deep and atmospheric sound throughout, with warm basslines and emotive vocals, drenched in reverb.

The title track is a melancholic number that builds gently with bags of harmony provided by strings and organ keys. The other tracks on the release are much more geared towards a busy dancefloor, for crowds that appreciate deeper and darker sounds. ‘You and me’ is the steadier of the two, bringing an unhurried groove overlaid with a mixture of blue notes and melody, plus a catchy lyric. ‘When I Look at You’ is a lot pacier, with a driving synth line and soulful vocal.

The ‘4 You’ EP was released this week, but if you’re saving your pennies or generally just being a deep house scrooge, you might be able to snap up a free copy, because Deep Wave is kindly giving a few away. The first 10 people who can answer following questions correctly will be sent a highly classified, eyes-only link to the full download:

1.) Where is Deep Wave Records based?
2.) What is the catalogue number of the ‘4 You’ EP?

Answers via virtual carrier pigeon to: info (@) thenoisegate (dot) com, remembering to include your national insurance number, place of birth and an emergency contact. Only kidding – we don’t need your place of birth.

Now wind up your gramophone and check out the EP below.

Much love, TNG x
