Schmeichel – Alteration EP [Defrostatica Records]

Schmeichel makes his debut on Leipzig-based label Defrostatica, dropping a five-track footwork EP which takes the genre far beyond its stepping roots.

Part of the Leipzig new school, drawing on a vast pool of bass music influences, Schmeichel has moved away from his beginnings as a rock drummer to craft an atmospheric, synth-driven ride through a personal story told with shuffling hi-hats, resonating rimshots and twisted vocal lines.
