Bristolian bass advocates Durkle Disco return to the fore with their first release of 2015.
Having caused one hell of a ruckus at the end of 2014 with the release of Lamont’s sweeping, murky smash ‘Far Away’, Durkle Disco are back with another audible treat! For their first release of 2015 label stalwart Lojik steps up to the plate with ‘Saracen / Day Z’.
Having firmly established a gift for crafting richly melodic and, at times, melancholic 2step sounds, on this latest release we see Lojik step into the darker side of the dance floor with the use of crisp kick snare combos and penetrating licks of sub bass.
A side ‘Saracen’ opens cinematically; setting up an atmosphere with haunting vocals before launching in with a hefty, trembling bassline. On the flip, ’Day Z’ takes things even darker as Lojik charges straight into a groove fuelled with a surging tenacity.
Accompanied by a ticking house remix from Sound of Sumo’s rising star Majora, the release really has something for dance fans of all persuasions. Inflecting the original A cut with vintage UK funky and contemporary deep tech stylings, Majora puts his own twist on ‘Saracen’ and delivers a sure-fire crowd pleaser.
Wih support from the likes of Phaeleh, Amy Becker, DJ Cable and UK Garage godfather Zed Bias, it’s safe to expect these sure-fire crowd pleasers will be all over the place come the summer season! Out March 27th, take a listen below and enjoy some weighty vibes!
