A Lincolnshire resident has pointed out that the success of an illegal rave at a derelict farm near Horncastle at the weekend has highlighted the county as an ideal location for such events.
Speaking to Horncastle News, Paul Kime said: “This episode will no doubt now earmark Lincolnshire as an easy target for rave organisers.”
The event, which could be heard over a mile away from its site on Whitehouse Farm in the small hamlet of Waddingworth, was allowed to continue until 9am on Sunday morning, despite it having come to the attention of local police at an early stage. Officers had arrived at the scene around 2am, but failed to bring the revelry to an end.
Mr Kime, who lives near to the farm in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, criticised police for allowing the event to continue unabated for seven hours and said he believed its organisers had evaded the attending officers.
“Local people are extremely angry at the lack of police involvement,” he said, “which enabled the rave organisers to continue their event uninhibited until they were ready to leave this morning.”
