Yesterday on NTS radio, Eglo records founder Sam ‘Floating Points’ Shepherd revealed plans to set up a sub-label under the name Melodies.
Spinning off from his You’re A Melody club night, which runs at Plastic People in London, Resident Adviser reports the new imprint will “celebrate anthems” that see frequent play-outs at the parties: where Shepherd is known to “wheel out vintage EMT turntables” and “spin an evening’s worth of soul, disco and boogie”.
With Sam promising a re-issue of Taxie’s ‘Rock Don’t Stop’, first released in 1979, the launch of the Melodies imprint is something to get excited about! Take a listen to the track below!
The next You’re A Melody night takes place Thursday 11th December at Plastic People, London.
