Edistant – ‘Variables’ EP

Indepth MusicRec, the Italian label run by Ancona City’s Genetikal Twins, has released the ‘Variables’ EP by Berlin-based Edistant.

A classically-trained musician from a young age, Edistant has been spinning records since 2006, however, after several years of playing accordion and bass guitar, he has turned his attention to electronic music, following his first major release in 2012.

Despite a rapidly escalating career as a club DJ, he has held onto the rock and blues influences that inspired him as teenager, and his musical background, which is fairly unique among electronic artists of his kind, has led to a fairly distinctive sound.

With a flair for what Indepth describes as deep techno, Edistant delivers dark and trippy synths, expansive atmospheres and a variety of basses, some smooth, some squelchy. Expect solid kicks throughout, though.
