We at TNG have beene fans of American singer/rapstress Doja Cat for quite some time now, so it is with pleasure we present to you the latest remix of her incredible hit ‘So High’ – reworked by none other than Indonesian DJ and producer Angger Dimas.
Whilst the original cut is purple, hazy and mellow in tone; on the remix Dimas brings some bounce into the track with a rolling, syncopated kick drum and jabbing up-tempo mids. Whilst purring cats replace the explicit parts of her lyrics, fuzzy EDM-esque synths and a rising clatter of drums spin the track up to its peak before launching into the drop.
Riding on a funky and energetic house vibe, with the more dramatic elements of the increasingly-popular American genre EDM thrown in for extra hype, Angger Dimas takes Doja’s chilled out hip hop original and turns it into something you’ll probably soon be hearing in the sets of Diplo, Steve Aoki and David Guetta.
Nonetheless, in spite of some personal prejudices against the EDM movement, we have to say this remix is still a total belter. Check out the SoundCloud preview below and see what you think for yourself!
