Bise – ‘Road’ EP

Bise – ‘Road’ EP

Right we’ve got a tidy little pair of techno jams for you here with the ‘Road’ EP from Italian DJ/producer Bise.

The original title track is a lively mover. Like the best kind of tech, its beauty is in its simplicity – a thudding kick and rib-rattlin’ bass carry the track from start to finish and while there’s little real variation or progression, Road is a quality little late night jam. One of those understated tracks that slips by almost unnoticed, deep in the mix but with which is a staple ingredient of that peak-time, basement club experience.

The remix comes from Dutch ex-footballer Rene Amesz. A quick look through our bottomless music vaults dredged up an old tune we’d almost forgotten about. ‘Rude Boy’, a track which at times is a tad cheesy, has a super-hype drop which forever imprinted Rene’s name in our minds, if not our hearts.

His version of Road shows a marked progression from the producer with his well-crafted take on Bise’s original. His track has a lot more going on than the top track and shares that same understated, peak-time quality. Neither of these tracks are the kind of tracks that you run home and tell your mates about but either one would get a thumbs up in any rave, club or festival. At TNG we love a track that delivers more as part of a whole in a set as opposed to a standalone track and both of these tracks are commendable team-players, well worth a butchers.
