Audiojack feat. Kevin Knapp – ‘Stay Glued’ EP

House pioneers Audiojack are all set to release their new single ‘Stay Glued’ on Defected sub-label DFTD.

The Ibiza-based DJ’s Richard Burkinshaw and James Rial met on the island 10 years ago and have pretty much stayed out there ever since. Originally hail ing from Leeds, the pair have long established themselves as selectors, producers, label heads and overall dance enthusiasts: making big waves in recent years with original productions and remixes for labels such as 20:20 Vision, Leftroom, Get Physical, Diynamic and their own rapidly expanding Gruuv imprint.

Set to drop at the beginning of next week, ‘Stay Glued’ consists of a rumbling bassline and classic tech house thumping accompanied by a commanding vocal feature from Kevin Knapp. Full of attitude, the original cut comes complete with a neat set of remixes from underground stars DJ ZDS, Sebo K, FCL and Gorge.

London’s ZDS’ remix is both energetic and catchy. Chopping up the vocal and inserting it in snippets over the moody thumping beat and bassline, the retains an underground ghetto tech edge throughout. On the second remix, Sebo K layers a progressive synth over the minimal tech beat to create something both smooth and dynamic.

FCL’s rework (or Weemix) steers the furthest away from the original cut, mixing the oringal’s tech edge with a strong high hat beat and high pitched electronic synths. Last but not least, Gorge comes through with a fresh rework that leads the track away from it’s techy roots into the realm of deep house with a heavy bassline and uplifting groovy melodies,
