Seelenfarbe – ‘Rely On’ EP

The ‘Rely On’ EP by Seelenfarbe (Michael Kohlbecker and Cara Mel) is the second release on BY awake, a brand new label founded earlier this year by the Frankfurt-based awake agency.

In addition to the title track, the EP includes a further two cuts by Seelenfarbe: ‘Don’t Care’ and ‘Sun D’. Two different takes on a similar theme, ‘Rely On’ and ‘Don’t Care’ are both warm and pacey deep/tech house numbers with minimal percussion, melodic keys and vocal loops with plenty of reverb, ‘Don’t Care’ being the darker of the two with a crunchier bassline and some industrial FX.

‘Sun D’ is a slightly different affair with very little in the way of kick drums, relying instead on a heavier use of atmospherics and vocals to deliver a chilled out, electronica groove.
