TNG Chart Update: Electro House

TNG Chart Update

Welcome to the first ever TNG Electro House Chart Update. Like I have previously mentioned on our Deep House chart update, we aim to bring the latest tunes breaking through or leading the Juno and BeatPort charts across a wide variety of genres, all leading up to a genre specific unofficial TNG chart.

In this week’s chart smashes, we have the likes of Duke Dumont; Martin Garrix and the iconic Faithless, plus many more so let our top 10 Electro House chart commence!

Electro House

Starting at our number 10 and currently shading Nokontrol out of the Juno Top 5 in Electro House is British DJ, Duke Dumont with ‘Mumble Man’. The track is part of Duke’s current three part EP series ‘For Club Play Only’ – all released through Turbo recordings with the latest being dropped in July. After mainstream chart success with the likes of ‘I Got U’; ‘Need U (100%) and recent hit ‘Won’t Look Back’, Duke Dumont provides us with this belter of a rave anthem.

Next up is a massive collaboration; a temporary super group if you will, mixing Dutch EDM producers Sander Van Doorn and Martin Garrix with Canadian duo DVBBS along with vocals by another Canadian starlet – Aleesia to create ‘Gold Skies’. However, it gets even better, sitting at number 5 at present in the BeatPort Electro House charts; it is a remixed version of the terrific combination mentioned above by none other than illustrious DJ, Tiesto. Previously the original fared well in the BeatPort charts getting as high number 3 in June and another remix of ‘Gold Skies’ by Overused is still in the top 100, momentarily in 65th place. Nonetheless, we’re going with Tiesto’s amazing remix of ‘Gold Skies’ as our number 9 in this week’s TNG Electro House chart.

It seems at Juno, that Duke Dumont’s latest work ‘For Club Play Only Part 3’ is very well received, as their number 4 and 5 are both from the same EP. Here at The Noise Gate, we’ve decided to split these two apart with the insertion of Tiesto’s remix of ‘Gold Skies’. Therefore our number 8 is Duke Dumont’s ‘Slow Dance’. As a description, ‘Slow Dance’ has a condensed backbeat but it is such a memorable tune with the added sophisticated synth play and vocal effect patterns.

Moving on to number 7 we bring you the man that generated incredibly infectious floor fillers with the likes of ‘Black Mask’ and ‘Knight Time’; its Don Diablo with his latest anthem ‘Back in Time’. Released only a few weeks ago, Don Diablo’s recent hit has climbed to the lofty heights of the Top 5 in the BeatPort charts already. This uplifting vibes of the track makes ‘Back in Time’ a magnificent sensation that should maintain its stability there in BeatPort and here at The Noise Gate.

Just missing out on the business end of the chart this week is another huge slammer featuring Martin Garrix. This time Garrix has teamed up with label mate, worldwide chart successor and fellow Dutch compatriot, Afrojack to deliver ‘Turn Up The Speakers’ through Spinnin’ Records nearly a month ago. I advise everyone who goes to check this song out, to do what the tune says and to be mesmerized by the middle bridge before hearing that constant electric bouncing bassline!

Now to begin our top 5 in our Electro House Chart and it is a legendary anthem released back in 1995, the global EDM phenomenon known as Faithless with ‘Insomnia’. The re-entry at number 3 in Juno’s chart of this classic is a testament to Faithless; the production quality of this hit and the value it still fondly has for many fans of this track around the world. This week ‘Insomnia’ appraisal takes the number 5 spot.

Switching it up a notch at number 4 is another remix in this Electro House top 10. This time around its Bassjackers’ remix of ‘Dear Life’ by Dannic featuring Bright Lights. Continuing this Dutch domination of the BeatPort charts, duo Bassjackers have solidified themselves into second place with this beastly bass domineering remix. Since 2007, Bassjackers have been producing belters left, right and centre in the Electro House realm and with this addition, be sure to know their extensive popularity will soar even higher with the help of this track.

The countdown is really on now as we come down to our final three, taking third place is 22 year-old American producer Pierce Fulton with his latest single ‘Kuaga’ released through CR2 records last Monday. This track is heavy laced with complex synth patterns overlapping each other to make a very colourful tune, worthy of its spot at number 2 in Juno and number 3 here at The Noise Gate.

Vaughn Oliver and Oliver Goldstein collectively known candidly as Oliver released the EP ‘Light Years Away’ last month through Fool’s Gold Records. The duo’s lead and title track from the EP has marched straight up the rankings to dominate top of the bill in Juno’s Electro House chart for this week. However, the pair that had success with their previous hit ‘Mechanical’ – which made it last year to the track list of popular computer game series FIFA – will have to settle for second place on our chart this week; with this very clever Daft Punk-esque composition.

Taking the coveted number one spot this week in our chart is another huge collaborative alliance. We have the familiar duo of Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike going toe-to-toe with German producer Tujamo and Brazilian DJ, Felguk to devise an outrageously loud banger called ‘Nova’. This track was only released last week through Smash The House Records; yet the track has been scouring through the internet podcasts by famous DJs, constantly uploaded to both SoundCloud and YouTube over several months now. Finally, this monster of an electro house smash is up there to be downloaded by the public and has its rightful place top of the BeatPort chart as well as ours.
