TNG Chart Update: Deep House

TNG Chart Update

Just like the music scene of today, ever changing and upgrading as always, here at The Noise Gate we are forever adapting and giving you the fresh news from all corners of the electronic music world. Therefore we would like to present to you our first ever chart updates for all you electronic dance music fanatics – with yours truly General J.

In this weekly set of articles, I will be providing you with the latest hits taking over BeatPort and the Juno Download bestsellers list, covering a wide variety of genres to suit each and every one of your preferences, letting you know the tunes you should check out to blow your mind with plenty of bass!

Deep House

First up in reverse order and coming in our number 10, it is ‘Let’s Go’ by Sonny Fodera and Cervendos. This tune has a very heavy 90’s vibe yet it’s not the hardest sounding Deep House track you’ll come across. ‘Let’s Go’ – released through Defected Records over a month ago – has been bouncing around the charts for some time but is now sitting pretty at number 5 on BeatPort, just edging out Eelke Kleijn’s ‘Mistakes I’ve Made’.

At our number 9 is Liminal Sounds’, She’s Drunk with ‘Talk To Them’. This track was only released on Monday as the lead single from the German producer’s latest EP ‘Physical ‘ and it has already climbed to the number 5 spot on Juno Records. This stand out track contains a shock wave of low key bass, so be warned bass heads but of course, enjoy responsibly!

Coming in at number 8 on our Deep House section is title track ‘Feel It Out’ by Mella Dee released last month on the namesake EP through Manucci’s Mistress. ‘Feel It Out’ is full of cool haunting sample effects over a funky backbeat – a total head banger.
The world renowned and L.A.’s own – MK a.k.a Mark Kinchen teams up with Danish producer KANT to form a formidable duo to create an addictive track called ‘Ey Yo’ – it’s just so damn catchy that after two weeks of its release it has already climbed to number 4 on BeatPort and it’s our number 7 this week.

Nearing the half-way point of our Deep House chart and in at our number 6 is Scottish producer and proud Glaswegian, Nativ with his latest deep and dark rave creation ‘North’ released through Tumble Audio. The popularity of this distinctive beast is only going to grow bigger so expect this tune to move around in the coming weeks as it has already airplay through Radio 1 and currently sits in the Juno Downloads Deep House list at number 4.

Spinnin’ Records has their first entry in our Deep House chart with Mike Mago and Dragonette with ‘Outlines’. This melodic and joyous track has been battling in BeatPort’s charts for nearly 5 weeks now, and with 5 being the key number, this is where ‘Outlines’ is sat on the fence at number 5.

At number 4, record label Tumble Audio gets their second entry into our chart with ‘Move’ by Archive. Currently on Juno Downloads, this bass line banger is keeping fellow label mate Nativ at bay, holding on to the number 2 spot but in our chart it is at number 4.

Now the crunch time begins as we begin to see the final three. So in third place and BeatPort’s current number 2 Deep House track is ‘Piano Weapon’ – the instrumental version – by Shadow Child and Doorly released through Polydor. This infectious tune has very much a Café Del Mar/Balearic air to its core, a great relaxing piece of music.

Into our top two and in second place is a remixed track of Henry Krinkle’s ‘Stay’ by San Francisco based producer Justin Martin. The remix has simplistic and mellow tune with a perfectly executed bassline rhythm. The co-founder of the Dirty Bird crew and plenty of experience to churn out hits, Justin Martin is an artist that you should stay tuned into for further awesome productions.

Finally the wait is over and now there is no need for a drum roll because at number 1 is ‘Fire’ by producer Paul Lawrence and Andy Garrett, put forward to you through Four40 records last Monday. The duo from the West Midlands put this track together as part of their latest EP called ‘Apocalypse’ and ‘Fire’ is a brutal storm of thundering basslines and snappy synth rhythms, well worth its place at the top of The Noise Gate’s Deep House Chart for this week.
