A small, unique, and fully independent electronic music festival with a lineup to envy, Gottwood festival is back for another year. If your not familiar with it, don’t worry because The Noise Gate comes to the rescue to tell you what it’s all about.
Held in a forest on the island of Anglesey, Gottwood provides a mix of major labels and promoters. For four days from June 19th this festival will be focused around a fantasy world setting with only one thing in mind…to drop those inhibitions and have fun!
Still a relatively young festival, Gottwood’s ambitious declaration to renew Britain’s rave culture has achieved promising results, having already had a string of nominations almost every year including short listing for Best New Festival in 2010 and nominated Best Small Festival and Best Dance Event 2012 and 2013. Last year saw the likes of Jamie XX and Lee Foss in attendance, establishing itself with ease as a front runner of the underground electronic music festival of the north.
This years line-up is now fully revealed and it has really got us salivating. Among the mighty list of DJs joining revellers in Wales will be Craig Richards, Crazy P Soundsystem, Kris Wadsworth, Max Cooper (live), Prosumer, Ralph Lawson, Tale of Us James Welsh and Maribou State.
Access to the campsite is included in the ticket price, or you can splash out on a luxury bell tent. The festival organisers have said can bring your own alcohol but only “just a couple of drinks in the park” kind, as opposed to the “I wanna get so drunk I throw up” kind. In other words, no large quantities of things and no spirits.
Music kicks off from 4pm on the 19th and finishes at 3am on the 22nd, so that’s four days and nights of music, with time either side of that to set up and check out the crazy that Gottwood creates within the woods.
For tickets and more information head to gottwood.co.uk. If I were you i’d snap them up quick because I have a feeling this one’s gonna sell out.
