Hold tight for this week’s Fresh Out the Gate tracks as we bring you a particularly meaty preview of what’s out about now.
Eats Everything’s ‘Haus Rework’ of the evergreen Nile Rodgers’ ‘Do What You Wanna Do’ is the tastiest treat on offer on the unmixed release of ‘Miami 2014’. Out this week and featuring a whopping 62 tracks as part of the package, the likes of Miami faves Umek, Yousef and Harry Romero feature alongside Do What You Wanna Do – a typically laidback but bossy house cut with a side order of acid.
Also out this week is a remix package of Tiga and Audion’s ‘Fever’ EP on Turbo Recordings. Even with fellow remixologisers like KiNK, Tom Trago and Acid Arab, Maetrik’s take on matters stands out from the crowd. A trademark dark and deadly, phantom menace of a track, it penetrates every layer of your mind and takes full control.
Alex Metric and Oliver team up to unload the ‘Hope’ EP on Atlantic Records. A sweet little three-shooter, the title track is a lively and cocksure, house cruiser and contrasts with all out fabulousness of creamy disco biscuit ‘Galaxy’.
Elsewhere Roush top dog Hector Couto adds his unmistakable, rolling groove to Josh Butler’s ‘Take That’ EP. Not taking anything away from the young, Leeds man’s lead track which itself is a feisty slice of house.
After releases on Ruben Brundell’s 12-3 Recordings, Just Paul pipes up on Funkoloko with ‘Good to Me’ EP out today. The original is a regular crowd-pleaser but remixes from Alex Wareing and Casma steal the show.
