DJ Sneak – ‘Meteors Over Russia’

The latest masterpiece from house aficionado DJ Sneak has sparked such excitement in The Noise Gate office that we – and I guess I mean “the royal we” – can hardly contain ourselves (oneself).

‘Meteors Over Russia’ – a collection of tracks inspired by the meteor shower in Chelyabinsk in 2013 combines today’s simplistic vibe with a nineties sentiment. Sneak blends a junglist attitude with a minimal house feel; something that we anticipate will bring several crowds together at this year’s festivals.

Our favourite track by far is ‘Acidez’ – a simple but effective bassline with old school synths that meander through several decades so effortlessly, making it almost impossible to pick which ridiculous hair cut you want to don at Sneak’s next set. ‘Acidez’ was actually produced in the nineties and was dug out from the archives by Sneak himself. It was taken straight from DAT tape, remastered and resurrected like a cross between a history lesson and a premonition. Check it out below…

Sneak has stuck well to his roots whilst still keeping bang on trend. This is his first EP release on Tripmastaz Plant 74 Records and we have a sneaking suspicion it won’t be his last. It’s due for release on April 28th.
