Darius Syrossian is a name that’s rarely very far from topic in our community. The Leeds born DJ is one of the more vocal producers around and has at times been the centre of controversy but more times than not, more than any other, Darius is our window into the world of house music.
This site is all about the music, always has been and always will be and whether it’s tearing the shit out of clubs or festivals with his bass-heavy grooves or the dynamite dubplates he prolifically drops on us, we’re happy for Darius to take centre-stage.
In the money-mangled world of music economic rights are both the good and evil of the industry. They are what allow artists and labels to make money and therefore sustain themselves in order for them to be able to keep releasing music for all our pleasure and enjoyment. On the other hand, the idea of owning sounds in such a way that they cannot be used and re-imagined by future visionaries stifles the creativity and puts parameters on future productions.
The compromise the industry has thus far reached has served all parties satisfactorily in many instances, but occasionally when an agreement can’t be made we are faced with the dilemma where we might not be able to share with the artist their art without the creator themselves facing legal repercussions.
Thankfully Darius is the kind of artist to not let stand in our way and he has now offered a brand new track to us for absolutely nothing. Yes that’s right for free! And this is no scrap off the studio floor so get downloading ASAP!
Speaking to fans through Facebook he explained it as thus:
