Xwid – ‘Xtreme’

So it’s time again to share with you some sounds of the unsigned underground. We keep our ears open for hidden gems lurking out of sight and select one which we think most deserves a bit of exposure.

Having featured a lot of deep and tech house in recent weeks, we thought it was time to scour the darker corners of techno and what we’ve come up with is this creepy little Frankfurter. Not the sausage, we mean of course techno producer Xwid. Hailing from German tech-haven Frankfurt, he has very kindly made his latest track ‘Xtreme’ available for free download.

It’s a 128 bpm bruiser with plenty of side-to-side swinging hats and stacks of atmospheric bass, fx and synth play. It’s clear Xwid is still trying to make his way but this track he’s carved out shows he’s heading in the right direction. Xtreme has a sinister groove and nothing to prove so give it a listen and take it from there!
