As a collection of venues, The Rainbow has unquestionably changed the Midland’s clubbing landscape over the last ten years. Between them, the venues have hosted some of the biggest names in house, techno, bass and everything in between, not to mention providing a site for huge, sprawling weekend-long festivals. To have made it to the grand old age of 10 in such a tough industry demonstrates how it has continually adapted and evolved to stay ahead of the game.

There will be several different events to choose from – the Saturday night event focuses on the more alternative side of The Rainbow, with a mysterious line-up yet to be announced. The Sunday daytime event and after party concentrate on the numerous house and bass brands associated with the venues, while Monday will host a variety of bands to complete the celebrations.

With no line-ups yet announced for the Saturday or Monday events, there isn’t a lot to be said about the beginning and end of this mammoth programme of shindigs, however we have plenty of information about the planned revelry set to take place in-between.

The Sunday daytime event and after party will run from 2pm until 6am on Monday, and will be held in The Rainbow Warehouse, Mezzanine & Garden and on the closed-off streets outside. All of The Rainbow’s key promoters will be involved, including FACE, 10.31, 02.31, Seedy Sonics, Bigger Than Barry, Gutterskank and many of their friends.

Expect appearances from chart-toppers Gorgon City and garage legend DJ EZ, Bristol’s Eats Everything, Radio 1 house heiress Heidi, Crosstown Rebel’s Richy Ahmed, Pets bosses Catz & Dogz, plus all the usual resident DJs associated with each promoter.

In The Rainbow Pub on Sunday, one of the city’s best-loved events, Below, will host a very special showcase to celebrate its position at the heart of the Birmingham party scene, its famed weekend-long events having taken place at The Rainbow for many years. Taking to the controls that day will be Rekids’ Mr G, Perlon boss Zip, Visionquest’s Shaun Reeves, Alex Arnout, Tom Craven, Jessica Lamb and, of course, Below founders and residents Adam Shelton and Subb-An.

Various films have also been put together to champion The Rainbow’s contribution to clubbing over the last decade and these are being released on a weekly basis. One is included below but you can check the rest of them out on the The Rainbow’s YouTube account here.
