‘Weirdo’ Is The Latest Project From Outlandish UK Rapper Lukey Storey

Launching himself into the scene as a solo artist in early 2018 Lukey hit the ground running, dropping playful and thought-provoking singles, making it clear from the offset he’s not afraid to delve into the cynicism and realism of life. Following the theme of Lukey Storey’s track library where he often dives into deeper issues, his lead single off the project entitled ‘Bad Choice’ shows Lukey looking reflectively at his actions and damaging coping mechanisms. The single takes us inside the mind of the rapper while he navigates his way through the pain of poor decision making and a history  of using drugs as a coping mechanism. – this follows suit throughout the project. He uses various genres including old school hip hop, soul, jazz and even hints of pop to mould a unique body of work which is as upbeat and positive as it is dark and moody.

Touching on matters such as struggling with mental health issues in ‘Joker’, self improvement in ‘Bad For Luke’, as well as addiction, romance and heartbreak in previous singles, this project is a full-bodied piece of work. Lukey continues to unapologetically dive into the themes and emotions we deal with on a day-to-day basis making him an extremely relatable and versatile artist. With ‘Weirdo’ being Lukey’s first full length project in a while, he’s clearly aiming to step up his level of production and all around quality, creating intrigue for any fan of left field, quirky and eccentric rap music.
