TNG’s Top 5 Christmas Bashes in Manchester

TNG’s Top 5 Christmas Bashes in Manchester

As Christmas approaches and those fairy lights shimmer, everyone’s getting in the festive spirit and looking to party!

As promoters look to zone in on this revelrous time, we don’t want you to be throwing your precious pounds away on any ol’ thing; so we at TNG have put together a wee list of some of the finer Christmas party offerings available to you in Manchester this December.

meatfree

Meat Free @ Joshua Brooks (Friday 19th)

Meat Free have had a good year of it; bringing the likes of Tama Sumo, Youandewan, DJ October and Legowelt Music down to Joshua Brooks for nights filled with plenty of glitter and fresh lashings on house and techno. With a firm belief in the Berlin manifesto, Meat Free expect you to “leave high heels and troubles at the door” because “you came in here to dance”.

Describing themselves as “a rave co-operative”, with any profit going towards future guest bookings, Meat Free set themselves apart by stating a “set your own price” policy for their resident-only events. Their christmas bash will round off 2014 with a pay what you want residents party; with Alice Woods, Natasha Carter, Steffi Allatt and Lucy Ironmonger joined by Levi Bibbi and Chellis from Tussle on the night.

Tickets available here.

meandyou

Meandyou @ Soup Kitchen – (Friday 19th)

Meandyou co-founder and collective designer Andrew Lyster is an established DJ in his own right and hosts the collective’s monthly show on NTS radio; drawing in a string of world-class guests and bringing down some top notch “DJ’s DJs” to the meandyou parties.

This year’s Christmas party will see the full collective (namely Juniper, Joy Orbison, Herron, Andrew Lyster and Alexander Taber) all playing sets, following their second Christmas radio takeover show on NTS on the 18th (tune in from 2-6pm for full festive carnage).

Tickets available here.

swingting

Swing Ting @ Soup Kitchen (Saturday 20th)

These last few months have seen Manchester club night Swing Ting launch a new in-house label to promote the innovative sounds of residents Fox, Platt, Joey B, Murlo and Samrai. Teaming family-favourite Brackles up with Fox on ‘Skank’, as well as bringing in Famous Eno and Trigganom for a remix on their first catalogue release, Swing Ting are seeing out 2014 with a bang.

Teaming up their “6th birthday bashment” with the holiday celebrations, as a big thank you to all their loyal supporters Swing Ting have made entry free to regular ravers: all you need to do is register here. Hosted by Fox with Platt, Joey B, Murlo and Samrai on the decks, if you’re in the mood for a mixed bag of bassy belters – from dancehall to grime, funky and southern hip hop – then waste no time and get your name down now.

Free tickets available here.

Hit & Run @ Antwerp Mansion – (Friday 19th)

Seven years deep in Manchester with founding roots in Oxford, Rich Reason’s Hit & Run night has reinvigorated Manchester’s music scene as we know it: pushing forward-thinking bass music, bringing top producers to the city for shows as well as encouraging support for local talents.

Rounding out the festive season with a big blow out at the spectacular Antwerp Mansion, the line-up will feature appearances from Chimpo, Jonny Dub, Metrodome and Rich Reason.
