Diegetics is back with another Friday night smash-up soundtrack – this time it’s a straight-through techno mix, with nothing but heavy, darkroom cuts from the first kick to the last ride.
The Essex electronic kid is normally pretty methodical when it comes to his tracklists, but with a hectic schedule this week he had no choice but to rock straight up to decks and throw down a totally unplanned set. The result is an absolute stormer of a mix, though – a freestyle, off-the-cuff blend to set your afterparty at full tilt.
“With zero planning on this one I wasn’t exactly sure how it was gonna turn out,” he said, “but I’m pretty chuffed with the way it all came together in the end. Got some really cool stuff from NuLabel again and Power Vacuum’s EP was ridiculous EP, too. The new Avian, Mord and Stroboscopic Artefacts tunes were also cracking…”
