It’s been a while but Tectonic Sound is back on Friday November 14th at the almighty Fez Club bringing yet another Sheffield debut in the form of Tom Flynn.
If for some reason you’ve been hiding away in a box for the past year and a half and haven’t heard of Tectonic Sound, then let me refresh your memory…
Their concept was brought to life back in 2013 with parties featuring Gorgon City, Friend Within and Toyboy & Robin. Their philosophy always has, and always will be, to bring to Sheffield the most talented breakthrough artists who have never been seen before in the Steel City and, of course, their next event is no different.
Awarded the ‘Best Breakthrough Producer of 2010’ by none other than Pete Tong, England’s very own Tom Flynn is renowned as one of House music’s most respected and forward thinking producers. An International DJ, Producer, Engineer and Remixer, Tom has regularly graced the world’s biggest dance floors as well as gaining an army of support along the way. His sets range through a whole spectrum of house, from deep to techno, which is also reflected in his own productions and remixes.
Having released on labels such as Hypercolour, Anabatic, Dirtybird and Strictly Rhythm, it’s not hard to see why Tom has gained praise and recognition from the very best in the dance world.
His music can regularly be heard on Pete Tongs Essential show on BBC Radio 1, picking up ‘Essential New Tune’ awards for songs like ‘Bianca’, as well as in the record boxes of Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Booka Shade, Yousef, Claude Vonstroke and Loco Dice.
Coming from a very musical background, there was only one way Tom was going to go once House music had been discovered at the early age of 12. From playing piano to studying music at college, Tom has been hard at work in and out of the studio ever since, and not just in dance music.
He has shared his love of music around the world at some of the most highly respected clubs such as Sankeys (Ibiza), Verboten (New York), and Smart Bar (Chicago) and now it’s the turn of Fez to host what is set to be an unforgettable night.
Joining Tom on the night will be Sheffield’s own DJ and production trio, Denham Audio. These three have been storming their way through the Sheffield dance scene and with support on their productions from Route 94, Dirtybird first lady J.Phlip and Goldffinch to name a few, they’re certainly a great addition to the lineup.
Also on the bill are Jayskilatah and Tectonic Sound residents, Tippa and Ben Earley.
After the success of the previous three events, this is one you don’t want to miss.
