One of the most highly anticipated singer/songwriters to come out of London in recent times, Sam Sure has been attracting attention from all the right places for his ability to mix on-point lyricism with addictive melodies and smooth electronic beats. With the release of his debut single ‘Hunger’ soon to be available in EP form – accompanied by remixes from Shadow Child, DVWLX and Jaded – we’re so enamoured with him at TNG that we couldn’t help but tip you off early on this one!
Sam Sure has won over some of electronic music’s finest with his emotive lyrics and snappy wordplay. With supporters including the eminent Black Butter Records and Radio 1 taste maker Annie Mac – who selected his feature on the TCTS track ‘You’ as her ‘Next Hype’ single back in May – he is fast cementing himself as one to watch over the coming months.
His debut single ‘Hunger’ is now up to preview on SoundCloud and is, without a doubt, a smash hit in the making. Built on a beat consisting of warm synths and mesmerising pitch-shifted backing vocal clips repeating ‘don’t be in, don’t be in’, Sam’s distinctive “Landan” tone glows through lyrics which tell the story of issues with a reticent lover: “My heart’s beating upon my sleeve / Tryina figure out if you mean the things you do / Only if you’re here / And I know you can’t even think right now / And advice is something I can live without”.
With his feature on the TCTS track ‘You’ now touching around half a million plays and the new single ‘Hunger’ picked as Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’ just last week, Sam looks set for great things. Check out new track ‘Hunger’ below and pick up your pre-orders from Black Butter Records here.
