RAE takes his first steps into the drum & bass scene he has long admired with the heavyweight Kingston Bass EP, which draws on Jamaica as well as sounds straight from the old school to give its laser-sharp tracks an entirely different dimension.
All four tracks – ‘Good Body Gal’, ‘Mad Ting’, ‘Hands Up’ and ‘Fireface’ – have an unmistakable Caribbean quality to them. But that’s not to say that any punches are pulled, with each one leaving a bruise with a hefty bassline.
