PRTCL & Survey - Scrapyard/Traction [Notion Audio]

Two more gigantic tracks have made the short trip from PRTCL’s studio to his very own Notion Audio imprint.

On A-side ‘Scrapyard’ PRTCL took inspiration from his breakfast (yes, really) to craft a depth-charge roller with growling synths and a clattering hook with quite the backstory. The producer explains: “The idea for the track came together after I bought a handheld recorder. I was making breakfast and thought the sound of pots and pans clanging against surfaces in the kitchen sounded quite cool, so I tested out my handheld recorded for the first time and recorded myself making breakfast. The recording was put into a project I was working on and the pots hitting the sink made up the main hook of that project.”

AA-side ‘Traction’ sees PRTCL hooking up with German d&b duo Survey for a feast of mesmerising bass and powerful drums. PRTCL said: “‘Traction’ was the first of many collaborations that I have started with Survey. The guys were coming to London to play at a Flexout night and I put them up in my room for the weekend. I started a project that we could work on while they were at my house in London, but we ended up working on it ahead of their visit.”
