Searching Voices is a new full length album form Spanish producer Pellon. Pellon is someone who has proven himself to have a moody techno style that distills lots of great sound design into stripped back but moving tracks that really go deep.
Here he really conjures up some great emotions, starting off with Una Cita Con Emma, a wallowing tune that lulls you into a nice deep groove filled with rippling pads and aloof vocals. From there things stay nice and comforting, romantically deep and serene with grey grooves and liquid pads making El Canto Del Grillo a really spine tingling effort that will keep tired dancers going all night long.
El Cafe Thailand’s is then a little darker, with ticking drums and spooky pads locking you into a groove that burrows deep into the night, then Old Man marks the mid point with a nice loose and jumbled groove. Spoken words add a human touch and keep things nice and authentically real.
Every track is a highlight, really, and nothing sticks out of this most coherent journey. Final tracks like El Venir Del Avnir then rock a title harder back and forth with their metallic textures and Razones closes things on a jumbled broken beat with glassy sounds, sombre bass strokes and more vocals all making this a spacey, cinematic affair.
