The beast of Bulgaria is back with a four-track stomper to reassert his dominance at the top of the Easter European drum & bass scene. Ogonek’s influence extends far out from Bulgaria, and on the Too Loud EP his savage production
The EP is equal parts cutting edge neuro (‘Radio Noise’ and ‘Breathless’) and the splintering industrial churn of ‘PA23’ and ‘Vall’ which signal a producer born, raised and forged in the studio. It might be disgusting, but it’s the best possible type of disgusting.
Ogonek has been in the game since 2000 but the man behind the moniker, PBPM founder Valeri Sholevski, has been producing since 1996. In the mid 2000s Ogonek hooked up with the biggest music movement in Bulgaria HMSU, and has gone on to share stages with the biggest names in the business – Goldie, Noisia, Shy FX, Mefjus and Roni Size to name but a few.
30% of the proceeds from this EP will be donated to RAINN, the largest nonprofit anti-sexual assault organization in the United States.
The Too Loud EP is out now on Estética Cibernética.
