A resident of Bay Shore, New York, has begun a petition to the Obama Administration to ban all forms of dance and electronic music.
The move follows the deaths of two partygoers at New York’s Electric Zoo festival, both of which have been blamed on drug overdoses. Several others were taken ill at the event, which was subsequently cancelled by promoters.
Set up earlier this month on the US Government’s official White House website, the petition is entitled: ‘Ban electronic dance music of every genre. It is killing our youth.’
The founder of the petition – known only as ‘K. S.’ – remarked: “After the recent deaths at New Yorks Electric Zoo weekend. I firmly believe we should ban the manufacturing of electronic dance music. It is turning our children into drug addicts and murderers.”
At the time of writing, the petition, which can be seen here, had received 51 signatures. It’s goal is to reach 100,000 by October 1st.
