The Noise Gate’s selection of free tunes this week includes ‘Smiling’ by none other than techno legend, Gary Beck (pictured). It features a euphoric female vocal that we just can’t place, but it offsets a relentless industrial techno rhythm.
Joe Garston brings us ‘Closer To The Sun’ with chilled progressive house from the rising Liverpool star, while Macksimus & Sterkøl Remix John Newman’s ‘Love Me Again’ with a vibe described as “tropical house”. Makes it sounds a bit like something off a Lilt advert but honestly, this is a cracking track and, to be honest, we couldn’t think of a better description.
Bristol-based producer Artifact, AKA Ryan Bonefield chucks us a freebie called ‘Let’s Sweat’ as he gets ready to drop the ‘How Did You Change’ EP on Huxley’s label, Saints & Sonnets. We couldn’t get much further from that sound with ‘Living Strangers’ by Orca, AKA Alon laifer, a member of fractal records from Switzerland. Whether you tend to like psy-trance or not, this is well worth a download simply because it’s an amazing piece of work.
Last but not least, Hybris brings us ‘eWaste’ – a little taster of his forthcoming album to be released on Noisia’s Invisible Recordings.
