The Dots EP is the third release on Pseudoscience Recordings, and is the first not to bear the name of label founder and drum & bass don Hybris – who based his decision to hand MVRK this opportunity on the back of one devastatingly heavy track.
Hybris explained: “When I started Pseudoscience, I wasn’t in a rush to sign other artists, as I only want to release music that I feel absolutely confident about, and I’m a picky bastard.
“But upon first listen to Voyage (on my phone speaker) I told MVRK to lock it down, and the rest of the EP soon followed. MVRK is an exceptional talent from Budapest, who perfectly represents the Pseudoscience sound, and I’m extremely proud to present his debut EP on the label.“
Neuro synths get a unique workout over shredded, razor sharp drums on each of the record’s four steamroller tracks – ‘Energizer’ boasts a colossal swung groove while closer ‘Ghost Circuit’ is so sparse for drums that its abstract percussive punches are led by the bass pressure and sinister soundscapes layered on top. The title track is a straight-up serving of dizzying neuro power, and ‘Voyage’ boasts the Hybris seal of approval – enough said.
