Milo Bloom – ‘Skyline’

Milo Bloom – ‘Skyline’

Californian three piece Milo Bloom have dropped two new tracks ‘Skyline’ and ‘Summer Nights’ through SoundCloud. Set for release as part of their coming EP this autumn, TNG gives you an exclusive insight into the group and their brand new chill-wave/electro R&B beats.

Multi instrumentalist Blly Kim, previously of O.C. quintet The Steelwells, has of late been writing, producing and mixing under the moniker King Cosa, Teaming up with Greg Fletcher and Jon Bradley to form Milo Bloom, the trio debut their new project with two hypnotic and hazy tracks: ‘Skyline’ and ‘Summer Nights’.

Reminiscent of the LA routine of late nights and early mornings, Milo Bloom’s sound draws influence from artists such as Drake’s Canadian prodigy The Weeknd and OFWGKTA’s Frank Ocean: two artists who have notably paved the way for the underground’s newfound embrace of R&B creepers. Constructing music more appropriate for the early-hours after party than a sweaty pulsing night club, Milo Bloom come through with a set of rich and woozy compositions.

Debut track ‘Summer Nights’ builds with hypnotic, bubbling synths and mesmeric R&B vocals from Greg Fletcher. With light rolling percussion punctuated with a strong kick on the third beat of every bar, Fletcher’s vocal’s ride the beat as he spins out lyrics that paint a picture of beautiful early morning sun rises tinged with an sad, underlying tale of summer heartbreak.

Follow up track ‘Skyline’ is built on a similar formula; with rising synths, ticking percussion and lush dreamy vocals all coming together to create an anthemic tune: excelling in terms of intelligently executed composition and forward-thinking genre fusion. Building vibe and atmosphere, ‘Skyline’ opens with warm synth pads and gentle vocals that assure of a forthcoming evening filled with late-night debauchery and morning-after regrets.

Matching tales of heartbreak with lush melancholic production, Milo Bloom deliver two stand-out tracks: sufficiently whetting our appetite for their debut EP this autumn. Check out ‘Skyline’ below, and head over to their SoundCloud to keep an eye out for what comes next!
