Keeno – Life Cycle

Keeno – Life Cycle

Keeno is set to drop his first LP, ‘Life Cycle’, on Med School Music at the end of the month and it seems there is no stopping his rapid rise through the liquid ranks.

The last few years have seen Keeno emerge onto the more ambient sound of the drum and bass spectrum with a series of remixes which caught the eye of the one and only Tony Colman, aka London Elektricity, who wasted no time in signing him to the Hospital Records sister label Med School.

Following on from the release last December of his debut EP ‘Nocturne’ on the label, Keeno is back with an album set to showcase the undeniable talents of the classically trained 20 year old, with a sound soaked in beautiful and cinematic melodies, backed up with soothing bass lines and sharp drum kicks. The 14 track album features a host of collaborators including Zoe Klinck, Pat Fulgoni, Louisa Bass, AZEDIA and frequent partner in crime Whiney.

Opener ‘As One’ featuring Pat Fulgoni highlights Keeno’s ability to layer a production with various elements to produce a song which on the surface appears to be a more chilled out track yet is given depth by the slightly haunting vocals provided by Pat Fulgoni and driven along with slick drum beats and soft piano sounds.

Perhaps the song which has brought this writer the most excitement is the wonderful and cinematic ‘Moonrise’ featuring AZEDIA. Demonstrating a sound which perfectly catches the mood of an evening spent under the stars, the track builds from a melodic and dream like beginning into an epic grandiose finale which expertly captures the feeling of freedom and is sure to have the dance floor singing in unison.

Life Cycle is released on June 30th on Med School Music so be sure to check out the debut album of an artist who has the world of drum and bass at his feet.
