The uproarious new record from French duo Kantyze has dropped on Free Love Digi, and the ground is still shaking from the weight of its landing.
The duo – made up of producers Feubo and Knockoutz – is known for boasting a melting pot of musical influences, ranging from Swedish metal to US hip-hop via jungle and drum & bass, and Mutation reflects this chaotic background.
Nine tracks deep, the LP roars, writhes and rampages through a symphony of synth-shredding half-time d&b. An exercise in making brute-force sounds sit in beautiful formation, the record balances light and shade to create genuine atmosphere, and as a result is all the more powerful when it explodes.
