Generic Greeting & Infinite Scroll Release ‘Dark Glitter’ Cassettes

Generic Greeting Collective and Infinite Scroll have teamed up to release a limited edition run of glittery cassette tapes!

Their new Dark Glitter project features a thirty minute compilation of tracks from GG producers Big War, Szajna, Kernon, DJ Croww, Quieteyes and No Arms plus a beat from special guest Brunks (WX/WL & Heavy Rain). The edition of 25 glittery cassettes includes five covers designed by collective members Lulu Heal, Callum Brodie, Will Berry, Kid milk and Harry Mckenzie – all individually hand drawn, coloured or painted by the artists themselves.

Release highlights include Big War’s Yayper and DJ Croww’s remix of Byrdgang’s Demboys/ Sampling Digable Planets’ Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat) winding the looped vocal “we be to rap what key be to lock” over melodic synths and a steady kick snare drum pattern, Big War absolutely smashes it on Yayper, whilst Leo gives a nod to his and Samename’s new club night at Manchester basement Soup Kitchen with his poppin’ club-ready ‘High Bank’ edit.

Another release highlight comes from WX/WL and Heavy Rain fave Brunks, who delivers a funky bass tune with its emphasis focused on the lower end. Inflected with dubby vocal clips, Exit looks set to be a firm dance floor killer this summer season. Further beats come in the form of Szajna’s Pants Down, Kernon’s short but sweet ‘Sabotage’, Quieteyes Viminto and No Arms’ Spazce.

Kernon’s Sabotage melds a haunting clipped vocal with a trembling whirr of rhythms, fading out with an array of extra-terrestrial bleeps, whilst Viminto starts off sounding like the celebration music you;d get in an old school video game when moving up a level. Spazce lives up to the promise of its name. Tenderly slotting rhythmic elements into a mishmash of chimes, bassy stabs and gritty atmospherics, No Arms constructs a measured beat laced with a palpable edge of paranoia.

Featuring beats from seven separate producers, each track is permeated by a dark and eerie current: a theme that is present throughout the release. Take a listen to one of the tracks below and pick up a copy for yourself here.
