Fresh Code – ‘Another Level’

With their new release ‘Another Level’, Fresh Code bring it back to the roots of trance, before Kevin and Perry made it look virgin-y. Due for release on July 14th and plucked from the Azima Records factory, it provides a fusion of tumultuous beats and infections riffs, perfect for the ebbing Summer weather.

It starts of low and bounding with concentrated club intensity, building up to something despite beginning on an already pounding level. There is nothing subtle about this song, yet raving should never be approached with caution. It gradually builds, in volume, power, momentum: it builds. Beating a virtual drum, stamping on virtual ground, clasping virtual hands. Who can lose themselves in the music more earnestly than those giving themselves, body and soul, to the experience at hand? ‘Another Level’ evokes a range of emotions lost to other similar genres, forcing the listeners to explore their own feelings and minds rather than simply dance mindlessly. It represents an underrated genre.

Tunnelling down to the roots of trance music, the song is overflowing with plummeting and soaring melancholic synthesizers. It breathes classic Ibiza, before the glow sticks and the cheap booze, injecting the pure flashing thumping limitless power of raw rave straight to the heart. It glides between bouts of impassioned, beat-driven chaos and sad, slow remnants with a dream-like quality. ‘Another Level’ emits contagious, exhaustive, heaving dance energy with every change in pitch, every piano note.
