It’s a 10 track bonanza in this week’s Free Noise giveaway spectacular. We’ve scoured the dark, murky world of the underground to bring you 9 beats from talented up-and-coming and mostly unsigned artists, plus a corker from a swift-rising OG.

So first and foremost comes Shadow Child’s VIP of Daughter’s ‘Get Lucky’. The original itself of course a cover of Daft Punk & Pharell’s pandemic hit. After debuting on Claude von Stroke’s Dirty Bird imprint and seeing widespread support from the likes of Eats Everything, Justin Martin and Annie Mac, Shadow Child has been relentless since dropping ‘String Thing’ back in 2012. His Get Lucky is a dark and atmospheric serving of undulating deep house.

Next up is another deep track from Londoner Vorres. His track ‘Searching’ is a well-balanced, rumbling rhythm with vocal snips and synth dips and swells.

Things start to get subby all of a sudden as Marco Del Horno weighs in with a remix of Dennis Ferrer’s ‘ Mind Your Step’. Del Horno has been part of the UK bass scene for as long as we can remember now but still remains firmly in the underground. It has an old school grime feel on a 4×4 beat and of course plenty in the low end.

That leads us nicely into a trap track from ChrisB. titled ‘Jigglin’. This cut of heavyweight 808 is a certified neck-breaker from the Californian beat-boy.

Staying with the 140+ tracks we’ve got a menacing dubstep creeper from Hashkey in the form of ‘Defeat’. Swipes and pulsing synths drive through the tangible, foggy atmosphere over tribal drums.

Let’s break the tension building with another upbeat deep house track in the shape of Jacky’s ‘You’re Sweating’. A bouncing bass rides the flattened kick and crunching clap. A well-layered track shifting seamlessly through each phrase.

To pick up the mood completely comes Lushington with ‘Tears’. Plenty of rich, classic keys, uplifting female vocal and a heavy groove. Just in time for the sunshine, perfect boost on a lazy day.

Another track with a summer feel but this time a more continental approach. ‘Daruma’s Revenge’ is a tech house jam from Austrian-born Croatian Le Sare. The track unfolds into deeper layers, over the hurried tribal rhythm.

Staying with tech haus albeit in a more rough and ready, minimal style is ‘Funk Beat’ from UV. Four to the floor beats and filthy groove are complemented by vocal cuts and metallic synths.

To finish it all off we leave on a note that simply could not be followed. This dose of scratchy, lo-fi techno from Berlin minimal man Martin Klang is a thoughtful, sonic exploration into expertly crafted, extra-terrestrial soundscapes.
