An avid vinyl collector since his teens, the London-based artist incorporates his love of music into his own material in the form of his trademark use of samples, and EP cut ‘MONO’ is a perfect example with its sampled flutes, bluesy guitar and pitched vocals.
Promising a kaleidoscope of weird and wonderful textures, the full EP – set for release on 8th July – explores the nooks and crannies of experimental electronic, R&B and contemporary hip-hop, blending storming bass, beautiful refrains and bold rhythms in a sound reminiscent of Hudson Mohawke, Flying Lotus and Flume. Both percussively multifarious and melodically resonant, it looks set to be his most outlandish work to date.
