With the overseas festival market booming in recent years, it can be hard to pick just one to attend. Flights are often costly, the campsites often sandy and the locations can be somewhat undesirable at times.
Kappa Futur Festival in Italy laughs in the face of all said problems. The flights are cheap, the campsites are non-existent and the location is in the beautiful setting of Italy. And it’s so cheap! At Kappa Futur you can expect to see artists such as DJ Sneak, Maceo Plex, Jackmaster, Alan Fitzpatrick, Marco Carola and Ritchie Hawktin: all for as little as 30 Euros. But why stop there? Weekend passes are just 45 Euros! And since you’re making at least a weekend of it (you didn’t come all this way for one day, surely?) you might as well make the most of it.
The Italians have always been big on authenticity; that’s why you’ll come across the Red Bull Tour Bus, a vinyl-only stage and strictly live performances from the likes of Disclosure and The Bloody Beetroots.
Pack your sunglasses, leave your wellies at home and rave away for 12 hours straight in true Italian style. The venue is situated right next to Dora River and is one big mind-blowing visual contradiction (it’s a post-industrial green renovation project complete with hangar, trees, industrial chimney and lasers).
Tickets for Kappa Futur can be found here (and to answer your burning question, yes it is Kappa from the nineties!)
