dubspeeka – ‘Falling Down’ EP

British techno DJ/Producer, dubspeeka, is to cement his growing reputation on the underground scene with a three-track EP on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth imprint.

dubspeeka has fast made a name for himself after dropping a series of stand out releases on some of techno’s most respected labels including Drumcode, where his track ‘K105’ has been sitting in Beatport’s techno Top Ten since release, plus Truesoul, Ideal Audio, Bedrock, and his own Skeleton imprint.

The ‘Falling Down’ EP comprises three tracks of deeply winding techno that showcase the darker shades of the sound, while retaining dubspeeka’s signature atmospheric vibe and super high production techniques.

The record opens with lead track ‘K130’ – The quickening drumbeat builds a sense of anticipation before dropping into a plethora of intricate synth interchanges that add to the track’s overall aura of understated cool. Marked further by waves of punchy beat loops and rolling basslines that set the tone for what’s to come.

The pace of the record steps up a gear as ‘K308’ rolls in next. Keeping the vibes decidedly deep while introducing the listener to a myriad of quickening snares and kick drums, dubspeeka finds the perfect blend of club-ready rolling beats and hypnotic piano loops that set a high benchmark for intelligent techno. With the additional waves of orchestral synths, ‘K308’ takes the whole EP to a higher atmospheric level while adding an aspect of melancholy to overall the listening experience.

Rounding the EP off with ‘SK4’, dubspeeka draws the EP to a close with a stand out club track. The upfront piano loops perfectly match the rolling beat and animalistic sirens throughout the record’s entirety.
