Following on from the success of his recent mixtape The Biggest, grime veteran Double S returns with a new offering, his first for the year, in “Day One” – produced by heavyweight UK Garage producer, Sticky (Ms Dynamite).
The North London rapper comes through once again with a new bouncy, melodic heater, with heavy dance and garage influences. “Day One” oozes flavour as he confidently delivers with the very same smooth rap flow that has become one of the many reasons why he’s so highly rated as the ‘flow farda’. A detour from the street rap and braggadocio that many know him best for, he lends his lyrical prowess and versatility for an ode to his ‘day one’ woman.
Revered as one of Grime’s most influential groups Marvell Crew, Double S made a name for himself in his formative years alongside the likes of Chip and Wretch 32, back in the days of pirate radio and Channel U, and it wasn’t long before he would cement himself as a legend in the scene.
Returning to music after some time away, his 2019 mixtape The Biggest, was a reclaiming of his legacy and in many ways proved why he is a necessary part of the scene, with the likes of GRM DAILY, TRENCH, RWD and RESPECT all singing his praises.
Initiating a new chapter with his new single, Double S is going from strength to strength. With the acclaim around him only continuing to grow, be sure to stay locked on Double S as the ascension continues.
