Declan Canning – Time To Jack EP

Declan Canning is a DJ who has played with some super cool cats in his time. He is also a producer who has been working away for five years, and how he is beginning tomato weaves. Those waves come on his own label Connection Recordings, and here he is serving up two more of them on his Time to Jack EP.
The pick for me is the second track, which is one of Declan’s own Primitive Soul Remixes of his own cuts. It is a high tempo, bristling tune with gurgling 303 acid lines ripping up the arrangement. A male vocal repeats the word jack until you are truly hypnotised and the high pressure rubber drums really demand you dance. ON the flip is the original, a more playful party tune with wonky synths warbling grooves and a colourful and off kilter feel the is fresh and exciting. Overall then essential stuff.
