Outshining the previous success of their last single, ‘Rapture’, German duo ‘Decibel Artforce’ (traditional German name) are set to release a new, riotous track: ‘Atom’. Having been unleashed onto the European club scene on June 16th and driven by Scream & Shout Recordings, this thundering, raucous track will blast you straight into the summer.
Although their biography was in German and I am, in fact, not German, I have managed to gather with questionable accuracy that, since the group’s conception in 1996, the motto, if a little imprecise, by which they craft their art has been ‘we do not make music – we feel it’. The two-man group guarantee a booming show and entrancing melodies, whether it’s in the club or on stage.
Their previous work showcases their talent. ‘The Hero’ featuring Simeon is vaulting with erratic pitch changes and contagious beats – it whips up a vigorous club vibe with enough sharp edges to turn it into an undeniable dance track. ‘Are You Ready For This?’ featuring Roby Rob is much more vocally-focused with weirdly catchy lyrics and a keen balance between voiced and artificial sounds. The beats are deep and resonating and the tune is a fluctuating melee of synths.
However, the song in question, ‘Atom’, is by far the most energetic song in their discography. It abandons all notion of caution and breaks through the useless build up and slow down with a reverberating fusion of heavy sounds. The parts of the song before the beat drop are invariably useless because we all know that they’re just there to lead us eagerly into the good part. Decibel Artforce do not disappoint in terms of vigour; they promise an energised club experience with every song, this one most of all.
