Alongside Ninetoes’ ‘Finder’, ‘Benediction’ from Jamie Jones and the gang at Hot Natured and of course Scuba’s ‘Adrenaline’, Chris Malinchak’s ‘So Good to Me’ was undoubtedly one of the iconic festival tracks of 2013. The Brooklyn-born producer’s back catalogue throws up a handful of noteworthy tracks since breaking through last year with cuts like the super uptempo ‘Beside Me’ – sampling a ‘90s Brandy song – and ‘If U Got It’ – a cut lying somewhere between a Julio Bashmore summer track and the Temptations who supplied the vocal notes.

Festival season is just around the corner and the hype machine’s in overdrive but nothing can get the heart racing and adrenaline surging like closing your eyes and blasting out any of those bangers, with the early spring sun glaring through your double-glazed windows (with the heating on full blast for extra effect). However Chris has managed to pull off a blinder here in capturing that pure essence of sun-soaked festivities and weaving it into his latest track ‘Forever’. And what’s more, he’s made the bloody thing free for download from his Soundcloud page.

The steel drum and disco-infused, clap-happy ray of sunlight is a must have as the days start to get longer and the back garden starts once more to resemble a place for barbeques, hula-hooping and sunbathing, rather than a desolate, rain-drenched gateway for burglars and urban foxes. So in light of the sun we’re getting now the storms have cleared, wrap up warm (quick it won’t last), blast this out your patio doors and get some much-needed vitamin D straight into those eyeballs.
