Access the Toolroom – Top label introduces demo submission app

Hear ye! Hear ye! Toolroom records have announced the launch of their new app that allows producers to submit demos to the imprint’s A&R team. A deep foray into the digital age, Toolroom’s Facebook app will give aspiring artists a shot at jumping from the bedroom to the booth.

Toolroom’s A&R team will be not only listening to the uploaded tracks but also offering feedback in an intriguing move that’s sure to be have the next generation of producers on red alert. The app also allows users to listen and then cast votes which chart the submissions.

The first round of feedback will go out on Wednesday and then run every two weeks. The top 10 in the charts will receive feedback and noteworthy entries will be highlighted by staff at the label. The app was launched on Friday and has already seen over 200 tracks uploaded for review. This looks set to mushroom leaving us wondering how on earth they’re are going to cope with the influx once it takes off?

The app is undoubtedly a PR masterstroke from Mark Knight and team Toolroom and comes hot on the heels of last month’s short documentary charting the last ten years of dance music but where Toolroom have been so smart (and sneaky) is incorporating attention grabbing schemes with genuinely well-conceived ideas that are bound generate massive interest.

You can listen to the chart here & vote for your favourite.
