Magic Door are celebrating a very special occasion on Friday 6th October, as they reach their momentous 5th birthday in Birmingham at Lab 11.
The line up includes residents Maxxi Soundsystem, Mr Doris, Jukes of Hazard, Deano Ferrino, plus secret guest DJs revealed on the night.
Reaching the 5-year mark has already been an incredible ride for everyone involved over the years, one which has seen Magic Door go from a 150 capacity back room of a pub to hosting regular events attracting 1000 to 2000 glittery faces in both Birmingham and London, whilst also making regular appearances at some of Europe’s most discerning festivals, including Croatia based The Garden Festival and Love International, and the UK-homed Gottwood, Lunar and Eastern Electrics.
Co-founder Jit Coulter-Patel explains: “It’s a pretty amazing to hit the 5-year mark after making an decision with the rest of the team when we first started Magic Door to never celebrate our birthday unless we made it to 5 years.
“We always said to ourselves if we ever got this far then we would celebrate our half-decade in considerable style, and this is exactly what we are going to do!
“So basically we are pulling out all of the stops but on a much bigger level than normal – we always pride ourselves on making each new party we do our best yet, so this really is going to be special. There will be next level production, lots of secret special guests joining our residents, and everyone everything will be getting another level glittery!”
Lab 11’s terrace, warehouse, yard and hidden warren of spaces offering an unparalleled creative environment to party in. Magic Door is a mesmerising feast for all the senses; it’s a sensorial odyssey which embodies experiential exploration, plenty of escapism and a very healthy dose of fun, all filtered through a pulsating disco and house soundtrack.
